“Lefty” Video Released Today

We’re super pleased to announce the release of our second video from the Hauntario record, for the second track, “Lefty”. The band likes to ‘go back to the well’ it seems, and has once again worked with producer/direct Greg Gillespie (PassengerOne); if it ain’t broke, right?

This time a complete concept video, it stars not only the four band members, but a number of their good friends, something they have made a priority in their career to this point. Close friends, as well as local musicians and actors, make up the cast of sombre participants, in scenes reflecting the sombre reflections of the song on death and relationship. Filmed in hometown Edmonton Alberta on a gorgeous winter day, we think Gillespie has done an incredible job of capturing the mood of song for all to see.

Hauntario in Ontario Tour

After a variety of hiccups along the way, we are happy to release the dates for our mini-tour, “Hauntario in Ontario“, which we’ve been waiting all winter for.

Check the “shows” page for the complete details, as we may be adding a London or Kitchener date in there. Can’t wait to see our friends out east again and bring them the new music!

Band of the Month

We are very excited to announce that we have been made the Band of The Month by Edmonton’s Sonic 102.9. “BOTM” is a great initiative by Sonic to promote the local music community by giving the BOTM regular airplay for the month, prominent feature on the website, and a showcase performance at the end of the month.

TWP is ready to dish up a lot of broken heart rock n roll in the month of love. Its a great opportunity for the band to reach a whole new audience. The announcement will be made Monday Feb.1 on Sonic at 4:20pm. The song “Too Far Apart” from the Hauntario album will be the featured track, receiving regular airplay throughout the month – so feel free to listen for it, and txt or tweet or email or even call to tell them you heard it and like it. The Showcase will be the last friday of the month, Feb.26, at The Pawn Shop (whyte ave, edmonton). Details to be announced soon. Thanks to Sonic – Adam, Al, Garner, Leanne, etc – looking forward to a great month.

Of course the pinnacle was Hauntario, both the making of the record and the thrill of releasing it to the world. “This Is It” Video Released Today!

Our first video! Well, officially anyhow. The band is really excited to announce the release of our video for “This Is It”, the lead-off track/single from “Hauntario”.

Produced/Directed/Edited/Masterminded by our good friend Greg Gillespie (Passengerone), the video was shot on a day off in Vancouver during the band’s recent western Canadian tour with The Albertans. A huge thanks goes to Greg for his incredible devotion and vision to pull together this project in such a precise manner. Also thanks to the incredible Greg Rose, our ‘tour manager’, for all of his help during the shoot. (you can see millisecond clips of Mr. Rose in the final moments of the video). Also thanks to our band photographer, Ian Sheh (website) for chronicling the event. Photos available soon.

Hauntario Recording Sessions Vol 1-3

Hauntario (available now!) was recorded in May 2009 at the historic Homestead Recorders in Edmonton, Alberta. The band discovered a lot synergy as they worked each day at pulling together the new songs and creating a template for the new record, and it was all being captured on film by producer Jason Ludwig. Jason has been the media producer for friends and local comedy troupe Mostly Water Theatre, and lended his talents to the band for compiling this video series.

Special thanks to Jason for his great talents and commitment, and to Homestead and our producers for being cool with a camera floating around at all moments. We hope you like it and stay tuned for more in the series.

Tomorrow kicks off the Western Canadian Tour with a long drive to Regina, SK. The city that rhymes with fun. Can’t wait. We thought we would send a quick note to you all in case you didn’t know about the exciting events upcoming for the band.

When we first released ‘Township’ two years ago, it was quietly on the shoulders of some family and friends. Now ‘Hauntario’ hits on October 6, and we feel like we have the strength of all of you already behind us. That kind of support is priceless, so thanks.

Hopefully you are in one of these cities along the way and we can share a pint and some music.
