Surviving Big Valley

Robb and Mike Angus of The Wheat Pool were, in fact, at the scene of the Big Valley Jamboree disaster this past Saturday, August 1/09. With a great deal of thankfulness, they were able to esacpe unscathed. Thank you very much to all of the notes and messages of concern and well wishes.

Robb and Mike played a couple of acoustic sets of music on the Sessions sidestage early in the afternoon, at 1:30 and 3:30pm, before taking to the grounds to enjoy some of the sights and performances. They were actually making their way off the grounds to have supper with friends in nearby Camrose when the storm dropped. Mike describes it as “biblical” the way it came from nowhere. If you have read any accounts, Mike can confirm that the conditions changed in mere moments, and left them running for cover.

Despite how difficult it was for the guys, they have a deep sense of the tragedy at hand, and we all send our deep concerns and best wishes to the families of those who lost a loved one that day.

Thanks again to you all.
